Job Overview:

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of high-profile projects across Wales. The ideal candidate will excel in cost and contract management for electrical systems, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role reports directly to the Commercial Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender and Budget Management: Partner with the Project Manager/Director to review and validate tender specifications. Assist in developing the project Cost Control System (CCS) by analysing tender documents and project needs.
  • Cash Flow Planning: Create precise cash flow forecasts based on billing schedules and anticipated project expenditures.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed monthly project reports aligned with company standards. Identify and address concerns regarding contract costs, revenue, or profit margins.
  • Contract and Claims Administration: Ensure claims and notices are submitted promptly in line with contractual requirements. Draft pre- and post-contract communications in collaboration with project leadership. Resolve disputes with clients and subcontractors professionally.
  • Procurement and Financial Oversight: Monitor material purchases for scope changes or budget variations. Manage client invoicing, including submission, tracking, and payment reconciliation. Oversee and approve payments to subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Collaboration and Meetings: Participate in monthly commercial and subcontractor meetings. Work closely with the Financial Department to ensure accurate financial reporting and oversight.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform on-site measurements in collaboration with the Construction and Planning Teams. Supervise site procurement processes and provide progress updates. Offer commercial and contractual advice to project leadership.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 5–10 years of Quantity Surveying experience within the construction sector.
  • Certifications: Progress toward chartership or professional accreditation is highly desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in electrical systems, with mechanical systems knowledge being a plus.
  • Project Background: Experience with Data Centre projects is beneficial but not mandatory.
